The best ending to the Il Divo 2012 tour. Meeting Urs in our hotel in Saint John in Canada with my friend Catherine.

Our hotel was basicly across the street from the venue and we already spotted a crew member at the hotel. After the show we walked back from the venue and saw a big car. We walked around to get into the hotel and there was Urs with Dick (teh tourmanager). He was wearing those tight jeans, boots and a leather jacket. He walked in the hotel just before us. In the lobbey the other guys were posing for a picture. We said hi and I got a big smile from Seb, but they dived into the elevator. Urs was still talking to Dick and standing there so Catherine started talking about the last three shows and that she was sad about it being the last. Then I enchoed that in Dutch and Urs said it back and asked if I spoke Dutch. I said I was Dutch. And he was like if you are Dutch what are you doing in Canada. I told him I was on holiday and that I added a few shows. He asked how I liked Canada and I told him about going to the CN Tower and taking a boatride in the harbour and Niagara Falls and then coming to Halifax and meeting up with Canada and more sightseeing. He said he was sad about not being able to do much sightseeing. I replied apart from the bike trip. Then I switched back to English so Catherine and also Dick knew where we talking about. I said it was nice to be talking Dutch again after a whole time just speaking English. We talked a bit about the show and about us standing up and dancing. and Urs said he noticed us. I asked him if he was flying to NY tomorrow, but he said no. He would be flying in on Tuesday. He was going to do some sightseeing and was meeting some friends. I told him I was flying back home on Tuesday and he wanted to know how I was flying back and wished me a safe flight. Then I asked him If we could take a picture and he said sure. Catherine took my camera and he put his arm around him. Off course I still had my jacket on and flat shoes and my faxe was al shiney, but it was great. I took a picture of Catherine and then we said thank you and let him go. We took the other elevater and saw Carlos rusing out and we said hi, but went in and started screaming in the elevator. Lets say we didn’t sleep much that night. It was just the perfect ending of the ID tour.

On Monday Catherine and I drove the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia. While driving we were talking about this being great for Urs and how much it would make him feel at home with all the mountains and roads. Then we spotted a few bikers at one of the view point . Three of them had taken their helmets of, so no Urs there. When I was walking past the one who had his helmet still on he did remind me of Urs. The viser was up, but he had sunglasses on so it was hard to see his whole face. He gave me a look and then said hi, like he knew me. I said hi back ,but walked past hiim to take some pictures of the view. I am not 100 % sure it was him, but I didn’t want to keep looking at him to check, because if it was him, I wanted him to enjoy his private time.

IL Divo ………Time to say Goodbye…….. Rotterdam Ahoy

David made Seb laugh , at the start of TTSG ………. at least that’s what Seb thinks…..I think it was Urs…..look at his face, he sure looks guilty as hell !!!! LOL
So sorry those 4 pretty Divo faces turn white all the time during this vid. Didn’t want to share it at first on YT, but the sound is okay, and the funny start is hilarious

Concert report Rotterdam 24th of April !!

Today I got ready for my final IL Divo concert, mixed feelings about that one…..Rotterdam is always special but also a bit sad, that after today all would be over !!!! Anyways……LOL

I had a long long driving day ahead of me……I promised Ria to pick her up in Eindhoven and after that we were driving to Willemstad ( Netherlands…..LOL) to first have a coffee at Antoinette’s place and from there Antoinette would be our Tom Tom to Ahoy !!!! LOL

We got to Ahoy safe and sound….lol….had to hit the brake only a couple of times….LOL….Wonder if Antoinette and Ria will ever want to drive with me again….

We would meet with several other diva’s in the shopping mall across Ahoy, but it started to rain, and no signs that it would be over soon, so we decided to go to Ahoy’s restaurant and stay there until the concert would start . We had a great time, so many diva’s that we hadn’t seen for a very long time !!! Wished we could have a Divo concert every month, lol…..only to catch up with all those sweet diva’s from all over the country !!!

We had again great seats, in the centre block row 4 this time……the centre block is really the best place to be this tour, because the Divo’s don’t move around that much as they did previous tours , and because the orchestra is situated on the left and right sight of the stage !!!

The concert was spectacular, the Divo’s were in such a great mood. It really was a IL funny Divo night !!!! Lots of jokes, funny moments………hilarious !!!
Sebastien had prepared some notes, with typical dutch things on it …….and Urs constantly had a laugh about these notes, because of bad spelling …..LOL

Eek ow fan bieterballen……..ik hou van bitterballen……I love bitterballs
Scheveningen ????? Wonder what he wrote there, because even Urs didn’t get it this time…..
Most fantastic was that Seb sang, “zeg ken jij de mosselman ?“ , an old dutch kidssong !!!!! He was really relieved that the audience knew this song and sang along with him !!!!!!! Good job Seb, you did great !!!!

David had me in tears from laughing when he said “ Thank you Madam “ when a MAN , with even deeper voice than Carlos , in the audience yelled out, “ We want more !!!!” It’s really a treat to see David on stage having so much fun, laughing all the time .
When it came to the part were he wanted to tell the audience it would be their last song, he didn’t get a chance……the audience called out “ Nooooooooooooooo” before he started…….hilarious, and David blamed You Tube for that. Is it really because we watch Youtube too much, LOL……or is it because we go to several shows, so we know what comes next ??????

Off course Carlos was trying to find the love of his life in the audience…..LOL….still being single he wanted to get lots of phonenumbers, well, that’s better than nickers, isn’t it ???? LOL . And he had kippenvel alllllllllllllll over, because of the warm welcome the audience gave him !!!! Fun fun !!!

Last song Time to say goodbye, somebody did something that made Seb laugh, he even had to stop singing because of it. Because David always is the clown on stage , Seb blamed him……but was it really David ????( I have that song on video , will place it here as well )
Watch Urs carefully right after the laughing incident !!!!! Looks guilty as hell to me, what do YOU think ??????

The evening was over wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too soon……and the long drive home was ahead of me. But with all those great memories, funny things that happened, I was home before I knew it !!!!
Thank you Diva’s and Divo’s for this evening to remember !!!!

Video from the Antwerpen concert that Juanita talked about. the video is shot by Valerie

Antwerpen concert

On the 29th of March I went to see the guys at Antwerp. I sat on the second row of block 5 at the right end, far away from my big favourite Sebastien. At least… for the first part of the show, at the second part he got over to our side again and he was going to sing Frere Jacques like he did on the other shows. Only the lady from the Belgian fan club in front of me had made a paper with the text of the Dutch version of the song. Seb decided to redo the song and asked Urs to help him. It was really lovely. The songs after that he remained at our side and I still believe that he put his thumps up for me (I doubted it a bit, because hey, you’re not the only one in the crowd, but Amanda sitting on row one a bit further away thought so as well, so hey… let’s just believe it!). But if he didn’t see me then, he saw me definitely when I went up front, running my feet of to stay out of the hands of the security…. Ahhahahaa, no kidding! They saw me too late sneaking by ;). I was standing at PQTME in front of Seb, but also the camera guy stood a bit between us, so he didn’t see me right away. I was shocked to realise that Carlos did see me. He never sees me!!!  So finally also Seb saw me standing in front of the stage and wanted the gift. He was already walking towards the end of the stage, when the security took the gift and walked away with it. The security guy standing next to me was telling me that they give it to them after the show. I think I said a bit ‘not amused’ that I didn’t really believed that ahahaa, though I do believe that, but I didn’t want to give my gift away to them in the moment I guess… Seb was stretching his arms to the guy for his gift, but he walked away. Then people on the front row (Amanda, Cindy, the lady from the Frere Jacques song etc) pointed out to the security guy that Sebastien wanted the gift. So the security guy turned around, but then Sebastien was singing again, so the guy left one more time, while Sebastien again looked at the man and put his hand above his eyes to see where the guy was. They took it behind the scenes. Seb looked at me, while his face was saying sorry and I looked disappointed as well. It wasn’t even a gift for him, but for his third son. It was a music box from Rizzly with ‘Hey Jude’. Oh well… I do hope he got it in the end and that he and Jude like it. And maybe a coincidence, maybe not: but in Liverpool a few days later Sebastien sang ‘ Hey Jude’…

Lots of love, Juanita

Memorable memory

I have two, actually.
My first memorable memory was seeing Uhrs and Sébastien totally by coincidence on a late evening talk show in December last year. I had never heard of Il Divo (shame on me), but they looked – ahum – interesting and so did the clips they showed during the interview. So I went and looked them up and I loved their music immediately! Their sound captivated me and really touched me deep inside.

So from then on, it was discovery after discovery. I had a lot to catch up, it seems. I bought all their CD’s DVD’s and savoured every minute of sound and image. The replay button is worn out by now.
I have been very unwell for a long time and was going through a very difficult time at that time. In a bold moment, I bought a ticket to see Il Divo in Oberhausen in March . It really was a stupid thing to do, because in the state I was in I was totally unable to take the long drive and stay up that long. But my feeling was: well, if my life is over anyway, I’ll do anything to get there and then I can stop fighting. To see Il Divo and die or something like that.

During the months that followed, listening to their music brought me so much comfort and the perspective of going to see them made me hold on. I became more and more determined to GO there. I couldn’t help myself and wrote a letter to Il Divo to tell them how much their music meant to me and also to others who had health problems or other issues. I didn’t really think the letter would reach them, let alone that they would read it.

Finally the Big Day arrived: April 28th. I managed to get there in one piece and the my Most Memorable Memory happened: Sébastien started talking about my letter he had received, how it had really touched him and that I was in his thoughts! I was so taken aback with hearing my name, that I didn’t hear what he was saying. Fortunately someone filmed it so I can cherish that precious moment for ever…

My health problems are better under control for the moment and I have to thank Il Divo for that, really, because without them I wouldn’t have found the courage and the strength to continue fighting!

Message from Urs

Hello everybody.

We’re on the home stretch of the European leg of our 2012 world tour. We all can hardly believe it is end of April already, the months and the cities have been flying by!

We have been enjoying playing to our European and UK audiences. The UK is always great because we do somehow consider ourselves a UK born band after all. The other European cities are always an experience, and the fans, as different as they are from one country to the other, support us so marvellously, just to mention the German and Belgian divas and the Dutch street team.

Exciting to see all the delegations from the eastern European countries as well that came traveling to the shows here and there. Your enthusiasm makes us very much look forward to visiting all your beautiful countries. For me the concert in Zurich was of course a highlight. Like every year, my family attended with about forty people and a whole group of my old biker buddies with their wives came to see the show. They all loved it and you can imagine the after show home coming party reception I got!

Tonight is the big night for Carlito, we’re playing Madrid, his home town. I’m sure the Madrilenas and Madrilenos will make it a night to remember!

Lots of love to all of you, thank you very much for listening to and enjoying our music, for coming to our concerts and we hope to see you all again soon, somehow, someday, somewhere…

The concert at the Royal Albert Hall was great, the Rah is compared with the other arena’s small but that makes the athmosphere and the interaction with the audiance much better.
It was a very special concert, for us a very nice memory to look back at.

I went to London with my husband for a citytrip and to see Il Divo perform in the Royal Albert Hall.
Its a dream that came true for me, I visited the RAH as a child with my parents and all my life I said that I would go back there if one of my favourite artists would perform. So when the tickets were on presale my husband and I decided not to wait any longer and bouth two tickets.

We met up in the RAH with some great friends, Saskia, Anita and Patricia.
